A focus on quality and people over profits
Bespohk (pronounced 'bespoke') is a software development studio who solve real world problems with technology. We do that by creating scalable, robust and efficient applications that are tailored to our clients requirements. Best practices are something that we take very seriously, and as such are consistently updating and improving our processes to be able to provide the best possible solutions for our clients.
We're a full-stack studio, which means we're there to handle everything from the specifications, design, development, deployment and ongoing maintenance of your project. We're not afraid of working with any number of technologies including PHP, Python, Ruby, MySQL, PostgreSQL, HTML5, CSS3 or Objective-C, in fact you'd be hard pressed to find a project that doesn't include a number of these technologies.
We love technology, it's that simple. You'd be hard pressed to find a time when our team are not deeply engrossed in an article about new coding practices, or some new tool that makes deploying code even more straight forward and less error prone. We're not bothered by language wars, and just want to go about building the most awesome tools that we can.
Building a culture that encourages collaboration and make every member of the team feel like they are contributing to the direction of the business is something that is a big focus in at Bespohk. We operate on a flexitime scheme to remind our team that their family and personal life is just as important if not more important than the time they spend working. By caring and supporting the team we've seen increased productivity throughout the projects that we've worked on.
We feel that open source is an extremely important component of the software development industry. Not only does it allow us to provide quality, tested, and well proven software to our clients, but it also allows us to give back to the community that we all benefit from. To this end, staff from Bespohk are encouraged to contribute to open source software via Github, Bitbucket, join in discussions on Twitter, and help out new and veteran developers on a number of online forums.
To help prove our commitment, we have shared our own large Python 3 web framework named Watson, which allows developers to get Python based web applications up and running quickly and easily. It's thoroughly tested, and has been a staple in our toolbox for several years. At the time of it's launch, Watson was among one of the only Python 3 compatible web frameworks, and it was part of our mission to drive others to bring the same compatibility to their frameworks.
